For presenters:
1. Join the correct room (see schedule) at least 15 minutes before your session starts. Feel free to download and use the STORIES 2022 background image while presenting.
2. Once you have joined, notify organizers via "Q&A" button that you are in. Someone will chat with you and promote you to panelist with screen sharing privileges.

Carl Gombrich

London Interdisciplinary School

Professor Carl Gombrich is the Academic Lead and Director of Teaching & Learning at London Interdisciplinary School. He is interested in interdisciplinarity, liberal arts and sciences and how these ideas about undergraduate education relate to contemporary work and ideas of expertise. Carl has degrees in Maths, Physics and Philosophy and was a professional opera singer and the Royal Opera House scholar before moving into higher education. leadership.​

Napoleon Katsos

University of Cambridge

Napoleon Katsos is a professor in Experimental Linguistics at the Faculty of Modern & Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge. He holds a PhD in linguistics from Cambridge and his main research focus is in the area of semantics and pragmatics, and in language learning by monolingual and bilingual children and adults. He is also interested in similarities and differences between neurotypical, and neurodiverse people especially as regards language and cognition.

Victoria Murphy

University of Oxford

Professor Victoria Murphy is the Director of the Department of Education at the University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in Second Language Education from McGill University in Canada. Her research focuses on the cognitive and social variables that affect second language development, with special foci on child learning, bilingualism, and contexts involving English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Fernando M. Reimers

Harvard University

Fernando M. Reimers is the Ford Foundation Professor of the Practice of International Education and Director of the Global Education Innovation Initiative and of the International Education Policy Masters Program at Harvard University. As a member of UNESCOs Commission on the Futures of Education, he is interested in advancing understanding of the ways schools can empower students to participate civically and economically, and to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. ​

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why can't I turn on my camera or microphone?
We are using Zoom's webinar platform. By default, microphones and cameras can not be turned on for attendees. Please submit your questions using the Q&A button. Presenters should notify organizers via the Q&A button and will then be given panelist privileges which include microphone, camera and screen sharing.


Why can't I see any other attendees?
Zoom Webinars don't allow you to see other attendees.

I am unable to present during the allocated time, can I change my time?
If you cannot present during the time you have been given, please notify the organizers at stories.enquiry@gmail.com. Unfortunately, we're unable to change the program to accommodate presenters' individual schedules.

I'm trying to join the room but nothing happens?
The webinar rooms will be open from 9.30 am - 6 pm on 14th and 15th March only. Outside of these times, the buttons will not work.

How do I change rooms?
Leave the current conference room, come back to this page and select the other room. You will have to re-enter your name and e-mail address.

Can I be in two rooms at the same time?
If you want to be logged into two rooms at the same time, you have to do that from different devices.

I have problems joining the conference? 
Please try the following:
1. Download the Zoom desktop software
2. Restart your computer, or try another device
